If you cancel the class, I would request for a replacement day. Should you not have a replacement day, then the class has to be paid for. Hence, technically, there will be no cancellation of classes. Instead, it will be a postponement. This is to benefit both parties – the student so that his/her studies aren’t impaired and the tutor where her remuneration is concerned.
- WHAT HAPPENS TO CANCELLED CLASSES?
- HOW LONG NOTICE DO I HAVE TO GIVE TO POSTPONE A PARTICULAR CLASS?
Though a week is much appreciated, it is understood that sometimes things happen inevitably. Hence, though there isn’t any hard and fast rule, a week is appreciated. However, rule no.1 applies.
- HOW WILL I KNOW HOW MY CHILD IS FARING?
Regular feedbacks will be given to you by me where the progress of your child is concerned. Needless to say, his / her results speak volumes.
- WHAT HAPPENS IF THE TUTOR POSTPONES A CLASS?
I will give more than sufficient notice pertaining postponement of class and will be more than happy to have a replacement on a day and time agreeable by both parties. However, do take note that this does not occur often.
- HOW IS THE FEE PAID?
For physical classes, fees will be paid at the end of each calendar month i.e. post completion of classes for that month.
For online classes, fees will be paid at the beginning of each calendar month i.e. pre-completion of classes for that month. This can be done via online transfer.
- HOW IS A SEMINAR CHARGED?
This will be negotiated as and when the need arises.
- CAN I RESCHEDULE THE TIME AND DAY OF THE CLASS?
Most of the time this isn’t feasible due to the tutor’s packed schedule. However, this is definitely conducive during the school holidays, bearing in mind it will be on a first come first served basis.
- WILL WORKBOOKS BE PROVIDED BY THE TUTOR?
If you are comfortable in purchasing your own workbooks, it is perfectly fine by the tutor. Alternatively, the tutor will purchase the books and pass you the receipt for reimbursement purposes.
- CAN I REQUEST FOR EXTRA CLASSES?
Yes, you certainly can. However, this is subject to the availability of the tutor and is chargeable by the hour.
- NUMBER OF MONTHLY CLASSES
Should the student’s class be scheduled for Wednesday, and should a particular month have five Wednesdays, then the student will have five classes that month. For example, November 2022, there are 5 Wednesdays. Hence, there will be five classes for that month.
- WILL THERE BE CLASSES DURING PUBLIC / SCHOOL HOLIDAYS?
Yes, classes go on as usual during school / public holidays.
However, it is understandable that may students need a break as well. As such, parents can opt to have a maximum of 2 weeks (2 classes) off per year to cater for school holidays or any special occasions (e.g. Chinese New Year, Hari Raya, Deepavali, etc.).
In all other instances, the first rule of postponement of classes applies as there isn’t a clause for cancellation of classes. - DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR POSTPONED CLASSES (PHYSICAL)?
YES. Should a class be postponed by the parent, that class has to be paid for and will be replaced at a time convenient to student and tutor. For example, should October have 4 classes but student only attends 3, then all four classes have to be paid for at the end of the month (physical classes). However, the tutor will replace this class at a later date, amicably agreed by parent and tutor.
Please take note that this clause is to benefit all three parties – student, tutor and parent. Postponed classes will not impair the student’s studies as classes will be replaced. Tutor’s compensation is not compromised and parents will not be overwhelmed with having to pay extra for replaced classes in a month, in addition to the student’s normal class.
